RN to BSN in Ohio

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the number of employed nurses is projected to grow from 2.74 million in 2010 to 3.45 million by 2020 – a 26% increase. The projected supply of nurses is not expected to meet the demand, and as more nurses enter the workforce, many registered nurses begin seeking a way to add a competitive edge to their credentials. RNs with a BSN have the opportunity to become leaders in the nursing industry, as well as make up to $11,795 more than the median salary for all registered nurses.

Approximately 124,400 registered nurses were employed in Ohio as of 2013. Salary prospects for Ohio nurses range from $47,440 to $78,650 annually, depending on their education level and licensure. Cleveland, Euclid and Lakewood are the best cities for nurses to seek employment in terms of annual earnings. Below we have compiled a list of the all the accredited RN to BSN programs in the state to help you find the program that is best for you.

Anything is possible with a big dream, belief in that dream, persistence to keep going through the 'character-builders,' and a BSN! At a time when the U.S. spends more dollars on healthcare than any western world country yet our health outcomes are 37th, a BSN will equip you with the knowledge and skills that are necessary to deliver evidence-based healthcare to ultimately make a bigger impact on improving healthcare quality and your patients’ health outcomes. Even with all of its benefits in improving outcomes, evidence-based practice is not being implemented as standard of care by the majority of clinicians throughout the nation. A BSN = bigger dreams plus the ability to execute evidence-based healthcare for better patient outcomes.

State Commitment to RN to BSN Education Paths

The Future of Nursing campaign is a nationwide effort to bring the country up to the standards of nursing as outlined in the 2010 Institute of Medicine Report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. As a part of the effort, Ohio has formed a State Action Coalition with the singular objective of achieving the goals set forth by the campaign. Having at least 80% of the nursing workforce hold a BSN degree is an integral part of this initiative and we have outlined the ways in which Ohio is actively progressing on this front.
